Johannesburg 1st March 2018:  a humbled Mango Groove are honoured to announce the release of the single and music video of “Faces to the Sun’’, the title track off their most recent album, and it’s perfect timing as the band ready for their 30th union celebration.

The visuals, beautifully captured during various concerts throughout the country emphasize what it has always been about for Mango Groove; the incredible support they have had from all South Africans through the years.

The legendary ensemble invite audiences to their celebration which will take place over 3 nights; 8th, 9th and 10th of March at Monte Casino. What is a celebration without a party after all?

This is a band whose sound transcends generations and will continue to do so for generations to come. Theirs is the sound of the nation – a sound that has been a part of South African history and will continue to be beyond the next 30 years.

  • The use of Mango Groove’s music in NBC’s worldwide broadcast of Nelson Mandela’s release from prison, and the group’s subsequent headlining of the concert celebrating our country’s first democratic inauguration.

  • Taking SA music to the world: Amongst other things, this included Mango Groove being the only South African act invited to perform at the 1997 handover of Hong Kong to China, being the only SA act featured on The Freddy Mercury Tribute concert (broadcast to over a billion people), appearing in front of 200 000 people at the SOS Racisme concert in Paris and receiving 3 encores at the Montreux Jazz Festival.
