SATMA winning Artist Dr. Bone releases the visual companion to his freshly released single ‘KwaZet’ featuring the hip-hop general, Zakwe. The visuals, set in the 90’s, compliments the original release ‘Kazet’ by Bab’ Obed Ngobeni, Kurhula Sisters, Mahlathini and Mahotella Queens, which Dr. Bone and Zakwe have reimagined.

The single released a week ago, on the 16th October – is already receiving great reviews and has already entered the Top 100 charts on radio. In the video, directed by King Shaft, we witness Dr. Bone and Zakwe take on a trip, in a vintage Chevrolet through the  streets of the township on his new single which honours the legacy of South African renowned maskandi ensemble, Mahlathini & Mahotella Queens. The single which features the vocals and guitar riffs of the original single, is a refreshing take on the classic hit.

Produced by Vusi Leeuw and Mzwandile “X-Wisebeats” Ngwenya at his studios in Cornubia, Durban – the pair have reinvented the classic song, while still maintaining the nostalgic, celebratory feeling of the original rendition.

Says Dr. Bone: “We were intentional about setting the video in the 90’s, as we wanted to honour the legacy of the musical giants, which we sampled the song from. We also wanted the visuals to evoke the same sense of nostalgia, that the song holds”.

‘KwaZet’ is available for streaming and downloading across all relevant platforms.
